Ceramics

Ceramics is elemental, encompassing geology, heat, gravity, and time. It is a grounded experience of immersive embodiment and sensory, haptic perception where illusions of distance and separateness are suspended. The kiln’s fire creates magical transformations akin to alchemy.

My work honours personal and collective trauma, brokenness, fragility, and displacement. Their surfaces carry a history of their making while their interiors hold emotions, memories, hopes, and intentions. The uncanny organic forms bridge the intersection of culture and nature. Embracing chance, failure, and a loss of control, they bear witness to our sublime, vulnerable natural world.
